| this is a sad story that i read on the Fortune magazine. here it is.
but before i give it to u..here is a little memory refresh of what i
will be talking about:
One
night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there was one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish,
sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is when I carried you.”

familiar to u? well..im sure most of u have read this inspiring little
story. the question is..who wrote it? who can truthfully claim this
story theirs? well..the reason why i brought this up is because
recently, companies who sold their products along with this story now
put millions of dollars in licensing for whoever claims this story. you
know what happened? professors, poets, writers, inspirers came
and claimed this story theirs. funny thing is, happened right
after that 7 figure number came up. of course, many were
eliminated and they Board narrowed it down to three claimants:
Mary Stevenson
Margaret Fishback Powers
Carolyn Carty (who, in which, everybody believes she is the one who wrote it)
all who are poets and writers. all three claimants have a
slightly different version of "Footprints in the Sand". Carty
claims she is a "child prodigy" and wrote her version when she
was 6. Stevenson claims that she told her biographer she was a 14
year old girl who was locked out in a wintry night during the Depression
and was inspired to write such a story by watching the paw prints of a
cat walking along. Powers claims that she went on a stroll in an
Ontario beach with her husband and was inspired to write this story
(she basically replaced her husband with Jesus). hmm...all
stories seem a bit believeable but something in every story was
exaggerated to make it believeable. "Carty is now sueing Powers
for copyright infringement. wow, for an inspiring story..many
battle out to claim it AFTER the money was placed." - Fortune Magazine
Nowadays, professors and theologists are copyrighting their "work of
the Bible" so that others cannot use it without permission. Why
do they need to do that? Is it necessary to do so? Wasn't the
Word of the Bible written so that others can come to
Christ? Not claim Christ? In fact, wasn't it Jesus, who
should receive all credits and copyrights, the one who said those
inspiring words? Who above all else, the King of Kings, the Lord
of Lords, Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End, healed leprosy, cure the
blind man, heal the paralyzed and performed miracles? The One who died
on the cross for OUR sins and resurrected so that we can rejoice in the
Lord!?! Who in the right mind decided to copyright GOD'S
work?!? The sad thing is, these are people who are becoming
pastors or theologists and more.
Just because of money, these people are not following what God wanted.
Instead, they are following what they THINK what God wants.
